Indications
A broadspectrum penicillin for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible Grampositive and Gramnegative bacteria, including:
- Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Gastrointestinal tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections (abscesses, wounds)
- Postsurgical prophylaxis
- Mastitis in dairy cattle
Dosage and Administration
Cattle, Sheep, Goats
7-15 mg per kg body weight by intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection, once daily.
Swine
15 mg per kg body weight by intramuscular (IM) injection, once daily.
Dogs and Cats
3-10 mg per kg body weight by intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection, generally twice daily.
Contraindications: Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity to penicillins.
Precautions
Use with caution in animals with impaired renal or hepatic function; dosage adjustment may be necessary.
Shake well before use.
Administer the correct dosage. Overdosing can cause toxicity; underdosing may lead to treatment failure and resistance.
